Reprogram Music's interests (and crates....) go very, VERY, VERY, DEEP.
Here's some stuff I've handpicked for everyone to check out---it's all across the board.
MASTER SCRATCH BAND - COMPUTER BREAK
Electro breaks from the former Yugoslavia. It doesn't get any more obscure than this.
HUGH MASEKELA - DON'T GO LOSE IT BABY
A Paradise Garage classic -- enough said!
CIRCUIT 7 - VIDEO BOYS
An ultra-rare minimal-wave/synth-punk track. I remember I-F on the C-B-S a few years back saying he wanted to throw things across the room when he played this number. I feel the same.
RAY BARRETTO - ACID
Talk about a beat track. THAT is percussion.
CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY - I'M A MAN
This number was later turned into a sleazy disco track by MACHO, as well as re-edited by RUB 'N' TUG.
KIKROKOS - JUNGLE DJ
This is probably my all-time favorite disco cut, and probably one you've heard me play out a number of times.... Those guys at Sound Exchange lost BIG when they put a nice white-label promo 12" of this in the $1.00 bin. Suckas! Also a favorite of RON HARDY, not to mention DJ HARVEY....

REPROGRAM MUSIC NON-STOP 007
This week's podcast comes to us from MISSSABADO. She has really good taste, as you will find it demonstrated here in The Beat Repeat mix recorded live last month in Lost Angeles...

You can hear more of her excellent selections in her very friendly blog, MISSSABADO that just kicked off last month. I'm almost certain you won't regret dropping by her little club. ;)

REPROGRAM MUSIC NON-STOP 006
The Reprogram podcasts have been on vacation for a weeks but by no means did that mean we were stopping them.
This week we have PERVERT of ANALOGICAL FORCE from Madrid, Spain supplying us with a rather complex mix of IDM and ELECTRO-NIX. If I remember correctly, I stumbled across Pervert's Myspace page a couple of years ago and heard his 'Kernel Panic' mix session and was completely floored---I still give that mix a good listen as it's one of the best electro sessions I've heard since some of DJ STINGRAY 313's electro/techno beatdowns. That being said, THIS particular mix from Pervert is a bit different from what I've heard him do, however, it further demonstrates his talent as a DJ. You'll hear stuff from THE BLACK DOG, VIBERT & SIMMONDS, PLAID, D'ARCANGELO, and more...
This mix was made exclusively for Reprogram Music, and we're grateful to have Pervert on for the podcast series!

REPROGRAM MUSIC NON-STOP 005
This week we are lucky, because this week our guest for the Reprogram Music Non-Stop is ZERKALO, hailing from various locations, but primarily Germany/France and the USA. For those in the know, ZERKALO is a newer project from Heinrich Mueller (yes, of the infamous DOPPLEREFFEKT!!!) and Victoria Lukas. The sound is similar to other Heinrich Mueller projects like ARPANET, DER ZYKLUS, and more recent DOPPLEREFFEKT but remains completely unique with Victoria's chilling, but sweet vocals.
As of current there are no ZERKALO releases and there are no interviews with members of this project. Some may be confused by this sort of behavior as an artist, but I find it to work well-- I'm much more intrigued with an artist's anonymity. In the end it should always be the music that speaks---rather than revealing interviews that may only work in one context for that particular moment.
ZERKALO has asked this mix to be dedicated to Marie Alexandra Van Huffel.
Okay, enjoy!!!

You can also download it HERE.
For those that must have a playlist:
et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum - i. des profondeurs de l'abîme.../ olivier messiaen

REPROGRAM MUSIC NON-STOP 004
The other night after WILD FRUITS!, Dan of GLASNOST and I got on the topic of the 'cosmic disco' sound and how prevalent it is in electronic music today. This made me want to leave the bar behind and listen to some of those spaced out mixes, and fall into a nice, drooling slumber. I ended up having the last available Lone Star at the bar (coudn't tear me away from it!), but was still anxious to go through some of the mixes I would find when the whole 'cosmic' trend really blew up a few years ago.
Since we didn't have anyone submit a mix to us this week, I dug up this mix-tape by some DJ just known as EVAN, recorded at Discoteca Boomerang for this week's non-stop. My guess is that this tape (#48)is from around 1984....and, well is it cosmic....balearic....typhoon?...
Just give it a listen---I think this mix is a great little primer to the 'cosmic sound' that everyone seems to still be wild about.
Oh, and if anyone has any leads on this EVAN DJ, I'd be curious to know more about this guy!
